We’re seeing a spiritual awakening among Muslims!

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Eph. 6:12, NIV

Those of us who have ministered to Muslims for years are seeing an unprecedented, spiritual breakthrough in their acceptance of Christ. This is occurring not only with one or two Muslims here and there, but sometimes with a majority of Muslims in a community.

Is this due to an increase in loving witness from Christians? In part, yes. Is it due to Muslims reading the Word of God, which reveals Christ’s redemption for man? In part, yes. But the main consensus among those who have been faithfully giving witness for years to Muslims, both at home and abroad, is that this kind of spiritual breakthrough comes only through prayer!

We Christians in the West sometimes are not cognizant of the spiritual battle happening around us. But in nations where Islam has a stronghold, the battle is intense for those Muslims wanting to come to faith in Christ.

The apostle Paul in his letter to the church in Corinth reminded them of something very important:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel . . .
2 Cor. 4:4, NIV

In order for Muslims to see the “light of the gospel,” a spiritual awakening needs to happen within their minds and hearts.

So what are some prayer points we can focus on together to see this spiritual breakthrough continue among Muslims?

  • Pray for the Muslims in the community where you live.

We encourage you to visit YourNeighbor.us. This is a great resource to inspire you to pray, and it shares ways to reach out to your new neighbors.

  • Pray for specific needs among Muslims.

Join the Jumaa Prayer Fellowship. You can download our prayer app through iTunes, Google Play or Windows.

You can also sign up for Intercede, a publication of Global Initiative, which includes prayer requests for Muslims and articles.

  • Pray for Muslim unreached people groups.

The Joshua Project website lists the names of specific unreached Muslim people groups.

  • Pray for our Global Initiative team members as well as our missionary colleagues, who are seeking to equip the church globally to reach Muslims in their communities.

Something very powerful happens when we pray! First, the Holy Spirit breaks through the spiritual darkness that has prevented Muslims from seeing the light of Christ. Second, prayer changes our hearts toward Muslims.

Will you join us in praying for Muslims both here in the United States and throughout the world? We encourage you to join our prayer fellowship and take advantage of the prayer resources we listed above.

Pray for our Global Initiative missionaries who are leading the Jonah Initiative training sessions in various parts of the world. Each training costs an average of $7,500.00. Thank you in advance for your gift of $20, $30, $50, $100, $500 or whatever God speaks to your heart to give.
